Impact of Room Location on UV-C Irradiance and Antimicrobial Effect

This peer-reviewed study evaluated a mobile UV-C device in an unoccupied ICU and surgical ward room using stainless steel carriers inoculated with MRSA, VRE, and C. difficile. The study measured irradiance, dosage, and log₁₀ reductions across different room locations and orientations, under standardized conditions. UV-C dosage was correlated with reductions of vegetative bacteria and spores. These results reflect simulated-use testing conducted under controlled conditions and are intended to model device performance in representative hospital environments.
